EVENTS:	Marathon, 4 miles, kid's mini-marathon, ekiden relay, 4 km inline skating
FIELD:	Approximately 10,000.
COURSE:	Our marathon course has been measured in accordance with the regulations of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) The course makes two loops on flat, paved and traffic-free roads, starting and finishing at Central Square in downtown Omsk. The race runs along the central streets and embankments of the Irtysh River.
WEATHER CONDITIONS:	Expected temperature range: 18 - 22 ^OC (64 -72O F).
AID STATIONS / FLUID TYPES:	Every 5 Km and at the finish line; water, cold tea and electrolyte replacement drink. Medical aid stations at each water station. Massage is available at the 35 Km point and near the finish line.
COURSE RECORDS:	Open Male - E. Tukhbatulin, Russia, 2:13.02 (1993). Open Female - A. Ivanova, Russia, 2:31.44 (1998).
TIME LIMIT:	5 hours, 30 minutes.
T-SHIRT, MEDAL, CERTIFICATE:	A medal and T-shirt for all duly entered marathon runners who complete the marathon within the five-and-a-half-hour limit immediately after passing the finish line. The personalized certificate, confirming your time and position is mailed later.
AWARDS:	Marathon: Prizes run ten deep for top male and female finishers, with overall winners earning "Volkswagen Polo", then $3,000 for second, $2,500 for third, and down to $500 for tenth. A course record carries a $3,000 bonus.
WIN A SPECIAL PRIZE !:	All finishers have a chance to win special prizes. The prizes are available as a raffle amongst all those completing the distance that they registered to.
The Basis Program
August 2-5	- SPORTS EXPO AND RACE REGISTRATION.
August 4	A Sports Exposition will be held at the City's expo center. Marathon souvenirs and running gear are available for purchase, as well as race registration and Race Number pickup. OPENING CEREMONY. The Opening Ceremony of the Siberian International Marathon - 2000 will be held in the Omsk Musical Theatre starting at 6:00 PM. Everybody will find a warm atmosphere for meeting runners from all over the world.
August 5 -	THE AWARD CEREMONY AND DRAWING FOR THE PRIZES. The Award Ceremony and drawing for the Special Prizes will be held on race day beginning at 6:30 PM in Dinamo Stadium. The Stadium is located between the Central Square and the Irtysh River. All runners who complete their distances are eligible for the Special Prizes drawing. PUBLIC SHOW ON "GREEN ISLAND" RECREATION AREA. Following the Awards Ceremony, there will be a public show at 9:00 PM on Green Island. The well-organized official ceremonies are mixed laconically with a folk-lore festival, performances, exotic shows, fireworks etc.
